The Wire Birds are an 8-piece chamber-folk group based in Gainesville, Florida. The string section provides soothing support to the powerful folk stories. The group is composed of Dan Stepp on vocals, guitar, and piano, Emma Lou on vocal harmonies, Gabi Shapiro on bass, Jon Alexander on pedal steel, Dan Hardwick on cello, Elisabeth Schrieber on violin, and Jay Coleman on viola. The Wirebirds are fresh off their debut appearance at the 71st Annual Florida Folk Festival.
