Jody Beggs CD Release Party

Jody Beggs grew up in a musical family near Gainesville. Playing guitar and singing came naturally. His fine songwriting matured under the mentorship of the great Nashville writer Danny Mayo (hits for Tracy Byrd and Alabama) and a 5-year collaboration with the legendary Hank Cochran (writer of “Make the World Go Away” and “I Fall to Pieces” and many other classics).

Jody and Ronny McKinley’s songs and strong performance earned them a record contract with the great Mel Tillis. Two albums and several awards later, they were voted the #2 Florida band by Florida Monthly after opening shows for George Jones, Merle Haggard, Charlie Daniels, The Judds, and other top tier country acts.

Since 2013 Jody has recorded and toured with his own 5-piece band, merging a Key West-ish laid back island vibe with classic country. We’re proud he has chosen Heartwood for this special new CD release.
